The Carson River Advisory Committee consists of seven members who are interviewed and appointed by the Board of Supervisors.  Three are owners of property along Carson River, one is a citizen-at-large, one represents wildlife issues, one represents environmental/planning issues, and one represents recreation issues.  Members serve three year terms. 

The Carson River Advisory Committee meets on the third Monday of every other month at 6:00 p.m. in the Sierra Room at the Carson City Community Center. 

Purpose and Duties

The Carson River Advisory Committee provides the Board of Supervisors with advice on matters concerning the Carson City Master Plan updates as it pertains to uses of the Carson River, coordination and implementation of various projects along the river, and promotion of education and public awareness of the vital resources of the Carson River.
