Jason Woodbury was elected Carson City District Attorney in November of 2014.
Woodbury was born in Reno and raised in Elko. He attended college in Reno at the University of Nevada, graduating in 1995 with high distinction and earning his bachelor's degree in Political Science with a minor in Criminal Justice. He received his juris doctor degree from the University of Utah school of law, where he served as Executive Editor of the Utah Law Review.
Prior to his election, Woodbury was a partner in the statewide law firm of Kaempfer Crowell for more than a decade. Early in his career, he served as a law clerk for Judge Michael Griffin in Carson City and worked as a Deputy District Attorney in both the Criminal and Civil Divisions of the Carson City District Attorney's office.
Woodbury has served on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Western Nevada since 2003, including a term as President in 2008. In 2011, he completed the Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Carson City program. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Western Nevada affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
