CALL TO ORDER
ROLL CALL AND DETERMINATION OF QUORUM
Members of the public who wish to address the Cultural Commission may come forward and speak on matters related to the Commission. Comments may be limited to three minutes per person or topic. If your item requires extended discussion or action, please request the Chairperson to schedule the matter for a future meeting. No action may be taken on a matter raised under this item of the agenda until the matter itself has been specifically included on an agenda as an item upon which action may be taken.
1. ACTION ON APPROVAL OF MINUTES
2. MODIFICATIONS TO THE AGENDA

3. MEETING ITEMS
A. Introduction of the new and re-appointed Cultural Commission members: Peter Barton, Nevada Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs representative; Danielle Cook, Citizen-at-Large representative; and Jesse Singh, Carson City Convention and Visitors Bureau representative. (Vern L. Krahn)
B. For Possible Action: To elect a Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson for the Cultural Commission for 2013 calendar year. (Vern L. Krahn / Commission Members)
C. For Possible Action: To recommend to the Board of Supervisors approval of a resolution dated January 25, 2013, requesting the State of Nevada to preserve the decommissioned Nevada State Prison as an historic place without obligating Carson City to any financial commitments for this effort until the State of Nevada and its community partners have developed a comprehensive plan, including projected costs for the prison’s historic preservation and its future uses. D. For Possible Action: To approve a Public Art Program Ordinance and request staff to begin a public review process involving the local arts and cultural community, developers, community and business leaders, and the public. (Roger Moellendorf / Vern L. Krahn)
E. Discussion only regarding the Board of Supervisors “Policies and Procedures for Boards,
Committees, and Commissions.” (Roger Moellendorf / Vern L. Krahn)
F. For Possible Action: To recommend to the Board of Supervisors approval of the Cultural
Commission’s Mission Statement and Bylaws. (Roger Moellendorf / Vern L. Krahn)
G. For Possible Action: To approve an outline for the Cultural Commission’s annual report for 2012/13 and work plan for 2013/14 to the Board of Supervisors. (Vern L. Krahn)
