On October 2, Comma Coffee, at 312 S Carson St, will host Carson City’s “Coffee with a Cop” social from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. “Coffee with a Cop” is a growing initiative across America with over 650 law enforcement agencies in 47 states participating. The goal of the meeting is to allow officers and the community a relaxed time to exchange topics and share information in a setting where crisis or other 9-1-1 related events are not taking place. This is a time to get to know one-another and share interests.
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office uses many opportunities to educate the public about the mission and values of the department, but this agenda free event focuses more toward informal chatting with those professionals in the community who are actually serving you. When you arrive, officers from the Sheriff’s Office will be on hand to share coffee over the table and learn more about what concerns you.
When it comes to the effectiveness and efficiency of the local law enforcement agency, the trust and relationships shared with the communities are vital. This social expands the current activities already in place, including National Night Out, Cops N' Kids Open House, Holiday with a Hero, Citizens Academy, and other activities that foster community relationship building.
