9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance

  • Date: 09/11/2021 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
On September 11, 2001, the strength of the American people was tested like never before as our nation watched the deadliest terrorist attack on U.S. soil to ever occur. Nearly 3,000 men, women, and children lost their lives that day along with those who were seriously injured and forever impacted by this tragedy. Every year since, we come together in solidarity to remember the first responders and civilians whose lives were cut short by these acts of terror 20 years ago. On December 19, 2013, Carson City declared Mills Park as a permanent location of the World Trade Center 9/11 Memorial, this has given our community members a place to gather and pay tribute. Lori Bagwell, Mayor of Carson City, and the Board of Supervisors proclaimed September 11, 2021 as “9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance” and invite all citizens to honor the lives lost and those impacted at the 9/11 Memorial site in Mills Park, near Seely Loop, at 9:00 a.m.
