Public Comments and Discussion: The public is invited at this time to comment on and discuss any item not on the agenda that is relevant to, or within the authority of, the Carson City Board of Supervisors. No action may be taken on a matter raised under this item of the agenda until the matter itself has been specifically included on an agenda as an item upon which action will be taken. Public comment during individual agenda items will be taken on the item at the time the item is called for hearing.

1. Carson City Airport Authority

Action to approve and accept the 2008 Federal Aviation Administration Airport Improvement Supplemental Grant in the approximate amount of $332,500.00.

Staff Summary: The FAA is releasing additional grant funds for 2008 and has processed the Carson City Airport application for some supplemental federal funding. The FAA requires Carson City to approve and accept the grant offer. This grant will be used to do the engineering design for the re-alignment of the runway and taxiway that will direct aircraft traffic farther from the homes on the east side of the Airport. The grant also includes installation of new weather reporting equipment.
