A. Call to Order and Determination of Quorum
B. Action on Approval of Minutes
C. Modification of Agenda: This is the tentative schedule for the meeting. The Historic Resources Commission reserves the right to take items in a different order to accomplish business in the most efficient manner.
D. Disclosures: Any members of the Commission that may wish to explain any contact with the public regarding an item on the agenda or business of the Commission.
E. Public Comments: Members of the public who wish to address the Commission may speak on matters related to the Historic Resources Commission. Comments are limited to three minutes per person. If your item requires extended discussion, please request the chairman to calendar the matter for a future meeting. No action may be taken on a matter raised under this item of the agenda until the matter itself has been specifically included on an agenda as an item upon which action may be taken.
F. Public Hearing Matters
F-1 HRC-09-077 Action to consider a request from Robert L. Crowell (property owner: 510 Partnership) to replace an existing freestanding signage with an approximately 20 square foot, six feet in overall height, wooden free standing sign with simulated granite block, on property zoned Residential Office (RO), located at 510 West Fourth Street, APN 003-126-03. (Jennifer Pruitt)
Staff summary: With the name change of the law firm renting this historic structure, the applicant has requested to replace the existing signage with a sign that is more compatible with the period architecture of the building. The proposed signage will be six feet in overall height and approximately 20 feet in size.
F-2 HRC-09-040 Training for the Historic Resources Commission regarding The Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. (Rebecca Ossa, SHPO)
Staff summary: The State Historic Preservation Office will provide an overall introduction to The Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Treatment of Historic Properties, specifically the 10 Standards for Rehabilitation.
F-3 Discussion only regarding an update of Certified Local Government grant 32-08-21733(3), Carson City Mid Century Survey, Phase II, Carson City Context and training opportunities for the HRC and residents of the Historic District.
Staff summary: Planning Division staff will provide the HRC and the general public with an update to the status of the 2008 Certified Local Government grant and an update of the 2009 grant status.
