VISION
The Open Space Advisory Committee will work to sustain natural and scenic resources and the long term quality of life in Carson City.

MISSION
Reporting to the Board of Supervisors, the Open Space Advisory Committee will develop, oversee, and support the Open Space Program by working in concert with staff and the public to acquire, interpret, preserve, and enhance natural landscape, agriculture, and cultural resources while balancing the needs of the public’s opportunities for passive recreation.

PUBLIC COMMENTS
Members of the public who wish to address the Open Space Advisory Committee may come forward and speak on matters related to the Committee. Comments may be limited to three minutes per person or topic. If your item requires extended discussion or action, please request the Chairperson to schedule the matter for a future meeting. No action may be taken on a matter raised under this item of the agenda until the matter itself has been specifically included on an agenda as an item upon which action may be taken.

1. FOR POSSIBLE ACTION ON APPROVAL OF MINUTES (November 16, 2015)

2. MODIFICATIONS TO THE AGENDA

A. For Possible Action: To elect a Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the Open Space Advisory Committee for 2016. (Ann Bollinger)

D. For Possible Action: To recommend to the Board of Supervisors submittal of a grant application to the Forest Legacy Program for the purchase of a conservation easement on the Old Woods Ranch, APNs 007-051-12 and 007-051-79. (Ann Bollinger)

E. For Possible Action: To recommend to the Board of Supervisors submittal of a grant application to the Land and Water Conservation Fund for fee-title acquisition of 20 acres, APN 007-051-81, located along Highway 50 and owned by W. Michael Fagen. (Ann Bollinger)

F. For Possible Action: To recommend approval to the Board of Supervisors of the “Management Plan for Carson City Open Space and Parks in the Carson River Area”. (Ann Bollinger, Richard Wilkinson and Roger Moellendorf)

G. For Possible Action: To provide comments regarding trailhead improvements on the north end of the Prison Hill Recreation Area in preparation for a grant application to the Recreational Trails Program. (Richard Wilkinson)
