Stephanie Hicks, Deputy City Manager
Stephanie Hicks was raised in Northern California and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the California State University, Sacramento. In 1995, she moved to Northern Nevada with her husband and began her career with the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Records and Identification Bureau. After 5 years working for the State, Stephanie accepted an opportunity to change her career path to the planning field. She worked for Douglas County Planning Department before joining the private consulting firm of R.O. Anderson Engineering where she became the Director of Grants and Hazard Mitigation Planning. Stephanie is an AICP-certified planner and a Certified Floodplain Manager. She has over 23 years of experience in the planning field to include land use, strategic, hazard mitigation and emergency operations planning, as well as grant writing. In April of 2016, Stephanie accepted a position as the Real Property Manager for Carson City. Her responsibilities also included the management of the City’s Asset Management Program and Facilities Management. In September 2019, she was promoted to Deputy City Manager. Stephanie has lived in the Carson Valley for almost 28 years with her husband, Bret. Their children Wyatt, Carley (daughter-in law) and Emily live in Carson City.
