All cameras in the courtroom are considered “media.” News media groups must obtain prior permission before video or still cameras are allowed in the courtroom.

Rules on cameras and electronic media coverage in the court are covered in the Nevada Supreme Court Rules, Part IV; Rule 220 through 247. View the rules.

A “Media Request and Order Allowing Cameras in the Courtroom” must be granted before cameras are allowed in the courtroom. Requests can be faxed to District Court at (775) 887-2177 and/or Justice Court at (775) 887-2297.
