CASE MANAGER PROGRAM

The Carson City Public Defender Case Manager Program assists attorneys and investigators to ensure high quality representation of the Office's clients, specifically those whose cases are related to substance use and/or abuse. 

The Case Manager works with a variety of stakeholders to represent clients' best interests.

Duties:

  • Assess individual clients for on-going needs for services
  • Make referrals to community-based social service agencies
  • Ensure client's treatment needs are addressed
  • Finds and develops mitigating information through interviews and obtaining records
  • Appears in court to provide context and clients' social histories
  • Works with clients to provide supported reentry from incarceration to reduce recidivism
