In addition to the fixed-route service, we also provide ADA complementary paratransit service. This is "origin to destination" transportation service for persons with disabilities who cannot use the regular bus service. It is primarily curb to curb service, but door to door service is provided upon request. Individuals who wish to be considered for this service will need to complete an application, have the information verified by a medical professional, and be certified by us as ADA paratransit eligible.

The cost for this service is $3.00 for each one-way trip within ¾ mile of any fixed route. The cost for service for each one-way trip that has an origin or destination between ¾ mile and one mile of any fixed route is $6.00. JAC Assist tickets may be purchased in advance at any of our service outlets. One ticket will be used for each trip within the ¾ mile ADA zone; and two tickets will be used for each trip within the ¾ mile to one mile non-ADA zone. 

The bus operator will assist an individual to get on or off the bus, but will not load or unload the individual's personal belongings or carry-on items. If a person needs assistance beyond this, he/she must be accompanied by a personal care attendant. Required personal care attendants may ride free. Persons who are certified for our curb-to-curb service may ride the fixed-route buses at the reduced fare of $0.75 with their JAC Assist photo identification card.
