P.H. Clayton (1819-1874) Founding member of Democratic Party in Nevada. He was a Territorial-era attorney and involved in much of the early legislation that affected Nevada. He was a "notorious" secessionist and served a three week sentence at Fort Churchill carrying a 100 lb sack of flour around parade grounds. He served with the Carson Rangers during the Pyramid Lake War. (Plot: W1E-05-03)
