Adaptive Recreation and Movers & Doers
"If you only do what you know you can do, you'll never do very much."
--Tom Krause
The Movers & Doers program provides recreational experiences for people with intellectual and/or physical disabilities and their families. Activities are designed to contribute to the physical, mental, social, emotional growth and development of all individuals. Quarterly calendars are provided to inform participants of the many fun filled activities such as movie night, kayaking, field trips, arts & crafts, bingo, bowling, dances, potlucks and much more. You may contact the Adaptive Recreation Specialist, Charmaine Angel, at cangel@carson.org or 775-283-7424 for more information or to be put on our mailing list. You may also contact the Recreation Program Supervisor, Andrew Menendez, at amenendez@carson.org or 775-283-7428 for any questions or if you need assistance.
Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space would like to thank our local businesses that have generously donated prizes to the Movers & Doers Bingo Night. Because of our local businesses, we were able to provide some amazing prizes for our recent Bingo Night this past November of 2023. Local businesses that supported the Movers and Doers Bingo Night included Mom and Pop's Diner, The Cracker Box Diner, Scoups, San Marcos Grill, Galaxy Theatres, Great Basin Brewing Company, Chili's, Starbucks, and Flat Earth Pizza.
